Ha ha, that's cool. Love the Tetsuo on the tv screen heh heh. I know what that's like being in a new place with lots of new noises... scary stuff...

Ah yes, I think the Akira reference is quite appropriate :D

Great excursion into terror there - being alone is great until it's all dark and there are noises and spiders everywhere.... aiieee.

thanks a lot for these nice comments, it's actually my second try at making a comic, so I'm glad a few people liked it :)

I'll be making much more methinks, based on other stuff that's happened. (the cabin story was mostly a true story) (all except making friends with "Nigel")

Damn that was fantastic! Where the heck did you come from and why haven't I heard of you before? For some reason the art really worked for me, it's not super realistic, but you're story telling is clear and I don't know - it's just good. The story was charming, and made me sad to see it end. I want to see more!

"Thistler" I'll have to keep an eye out for your stuff. Do you have a website?

thanks! :)
This competition has inspired me to start drawing a lot more.
I'm still new to making comics, I'm usually making things in flash and putting them on Newgrounds.com. I made my first comic last year for my nephew's birthday http://www.viagrafalls.net/thistler/sb/. My website is: http://www.thistler.net, it's got a few ink things I drew and my cartoons and games etc.

Josh, this is lovely work. I really liked it. The off colour of the paper / tone you've added is just perfect and I, too, liked the little Akira reference/cameo. I also liked how you named the spider Nigel. :) Enjoyed your work a lot.

First off Iove the look the paper gives it, yellowish and with that porous texture.
And the shading, watercolour ink, right? great effect. I think we're familiar with iratoinal paranoia, alone in the dark. All the weird noises, clicking, creaking, brrrrrr. And out in the woods no less! It's the little things, well done. When I read the title I expected a flesh eaching disease. Poor Nigel. He was so young and beautiful.
Well, I don't want a renegade necrophile princess as MY roomate!

I really liked your SK8 or die too btw. The paper was given to me a few weeks ago (a whole stack of water colour paper and canvases) and it's really old, hence the colour. I used to watch akira lot out in that cabin. lonely lonely productive days.

Just plain lovely... you deserve much praise for clarity in writing and art. Nice agoraphobic and arachnophobic ending.

errr, to be honest, i thought it was sorta funny.. XD;;; is that bad? either way i love it, your style is that half-cartoon-half-serious sort of thing that i strive for (usually) and i'm really liking the watercolor and paper you used too. :3 good job...!
