Haha, that's some serious necrophilia, Avi-niichan. I love how you've stuck so closely to the facts oh yes!

Fascinating, even though I don't know who Asahi or the French Guy are...

Well, I've suffered a serious set back. My fine liner and big fat marker have run out of ink!!!
The only thing I could find were ballpoints (AYYYEEE!!!) or a brush and some caligraphy ink... So I'm trying something new. There's a serious drop in quality because i've never used a brush before, so please be gentlre with me about it :(
Image

In other news my arm is hurting so badly, it's not funny! I think I might reosrt to using some ballpoints of my own, as they're not too bad for drawing with (I'd use them in lectures for such), but the lines is less than that of a 0.1, and they don't scan well because of it.

Xiao_Li: Here's a hint - Who do you know of that's got the same name as a japanese beer and is attached to OzTAKU?
And the French guy is a part of OzTAKU's history that any of the issue 01 artists will be glad to tell you about, I'm sure... Although he may not have actually slept with Hitler.

Avi, hehehe, the scan are pretty bad but I can read it! :) I never knew there was a french guy involved at the the beginning of OzTaku, but there you go! All those shenanigans eh?

You gonna print this in an upcoming issue of OzTaku?

I was a bit disappointed to read that bit about Kenny not finding work with his multimedia degree though. My outlook is quite grim now :(

Well people, I'm wussing out and finishing here, on page 16...
I honestly thought there was more history, but it occurs to me a LOT of it has actually been tagged for production, or has been documented already in the OzTAKU no Brain shorts...

So, here is the end of the history of OzTAKU, pt1
Image

Gary: Yeah, we had a French guy right at the beginning when we were right at the inception stage. He insisted on doing the layout editing, regardless of the fact he had no actual experience, and whilst I have no taste or sense of geometry, I at least knew how to use Quark. There was a massive debacle with him formatting his HDD the evening before we needed to get the 2nd issue off to print, and also a hilarious story about the time Kenny & I, at his own insistence, showed him what YAOI was.

But yeah, sorry about the quality of the scans people. The scanner we have here is not so great, and I didn't put it above 100dpi for fear that the filesize would blow out. If this proves popular enough, I'll redraw some panels and letter it properly.

Thank you Avi for not drawing me in gay porn. I think this has got to be your best/worst work yet... ;)

Gary: Multimedia jobs just ask for experience. You've got your comic which has been running for a while, so that counts as a lot. Shouldn't be too much trouble for you. :)

I wonder how you came up with all this. o_O I guess sleep deprivation really gets to you ;)

Although, you did come up with the french and nazi thing before I left, so I think you might be certifiable.

Mark, I don't think there's any need to worry. French Guy isn't even closely referenced enough to make it obvious who were actually talking about...
I've checked up on the libel laws for this, and the only way we could be sued for libel is if I made it so dirt obvious as to who it was... which I haven't because French Guy isn't even technically French anymore... And I speak French... and I know other French people...
So the real identity of French Guy will remain anonymous for the rest of time

Fascinating account. Although I had trouble reading some of the text in parts, and I think it had one too many in-jokes and references. I found the French guy funny though, especially his first appearance "formidable". ha ha.

This is a true account like movies are "based on a true story", right? - I thought the live yaoi demonstrations and French guy sleeping with Hitler was pretty funny.
