7 beers, two amarettos, hydric acid, two Vs, chocolate, crisps, the x-ecutioners, ike & tina turner, the beatles, donny hathaway, roni size, and several minor arguments...

8 pages is looking like a long, long way off...

And the last, partially completed page (for tonight, as the artist has retired for the evening at approx. 10:15pm after a stirling job). This is only the second comic we have ever attempted. With hindsight, it would have been easier to try something less complex within the confines of a 24 hour comic - live and learn - but you might as well shoot for the <yawn> moon. The full 8 pages within 24 hours is looking highly unlikely, but we'll probably make it to 5 or so tomorrow - and the rest will follow (64 hour comic anyone?). Now it's off to trawl the other entires for this writer... JCImage

Alright, after a good 8 hours sleep we're back!!

Here's the finished third page... (Despite only having attempted one comic before, Miss Wired has revealed herself to the writer as needing to inject more detail than George Perez into every panel - very nice to look at, but 8 pages, yeah right!)

Time to take stock: the 24 hour challenge has definitely beaten us! It's been 24 hours for us and we are now 4 pages into our <cough> easy 8 page comic.

Really though, we are both very, very happy. The challenge has stirred us to put something to paper - and we will definitely be finishing The Ape Effect over the next couple of weeks - maybe even another page this weekend!

To sum up: everything we've done was done in the 24 hours (8+ hours of which was glorious sleep) using a pad, pens, a WACOM tablet, a notebook, some photo references, and ten buckets of sweat!

Everybody else's work as been most inspiring, thanks for sharing! All feedback and comments welcome...

Regards and thanks for reading,

JC & MW

MW: I really do love drawing. I just don't like hard wooden chairs and running out of beer *when* drawing... and deadlines.... gotta hate those deadlines...
