Alethea Lim - Last Mail - Adelaide. DONE!

Postby Alecat on Mon Jun 11, 2007 12:25 am

I'm meant to be studying for exams! But I couldn't shake this idea. I managed to pump out the first 6 (of eight) pages really quickly, but they're equally as sketchy, because I need to go back and hit the books.

Wow - forget the study, get back to this!! Really impressive artwork there, and hanging to see where the story goes!

As you wish!

I'm not entirely happy with that last page, but I've really got to stop here. By the way, I did try and stick the "Doctor" part in in a couple of places but without text it didn't really work... so the closest I got was the letter being kind of smudge-ed-ly addressed to a Doctor.

But I'm done. It's certainly a fun experience and hopefully the next time I attempt this I'll have the time to do something far more polished. (And maybe realise that the event was on at least a week in advance) Maybe in the future I'll even go for a full 24 pages!

Actually it's absolutely beautiful as-is! Your pencil work is amazing - but not only that you've got great panel layouts. Great work.

Oh and better get back to that study!

Wow, that's really cool! The story flows with perfect clarity, which is sometimes hard with no words. And those birds look amazingly lifelike! I was hoping for a happy ending though...

Great little story. It really breathes and flows just right... Saying so much with so little is a definite skill! ... Would love to see more next time, definitely!

Thanks guys!

Google image search and I cemented our friendship in the making of this comic.

Alecat, great images.

When I saw them, I heard Tori Amos in my ears. Why is that? :)

Demongoldfish: we're eeeeverywhere. Uh, wait, no. We're in Adelaide. I blame plufim for my participation this year! (Even if he is out in Kangarilla)

TaCK: After reading your post, I got "1000 Oceans" stuck in my head. It kinda fits! Thanks for your comment, it feels quite cool to know that a comic can connect with someone on more than just a visual level.

onegreyelephant: Thankyou :)

Thanks Haruka :D

And of course I'll blame you, Connell, because it really is your fault. I suppose maybe I should be thanking you?
