Postby Troy Kealley on Sat Apr 21, 2007 1:56 pm

Time to swing this years 24 hour challenge into gear!

The competition is on to create a poster for the Comikaze 24 hour Challenge. What you have to do-
Create an A3 poster
* which includes the date; Queens' Birthday Weekend June 9-11 EST
* the logo http://www.pulpfaction.net/24hr_2005/i/clock.gif
* The website address http://comikaze24.com/
* A space for the sponsors (roughly a 300 x 150mm area)
* the year- 2007
* It will be colour but it has to print well in Black and White
* And the title, which is the Comikaze 24hr Challenge

The winning poster will be selected by the 24 hour Challenge Organising Committee - prizes announced soon.

The poster will be the basis of all the other promotional material; website, flyers, press releases, etc

Entries must be posted here by 1st of May - so get cracking!

So far... yes. Although our tardiness in starting this is most likely to blame.
That said... that's a great poster!

Does anyone have the previous year's posters? It'd be nice to see them all together somewhere ..and also to help inspire different posters.
I got an idea for one but I'll be voting Canaan's even if I finish it in time.

Ok here's the idea I had, and I Todd Goldman-ed a little on Caanan's But I'm no good at these graphic design things, so I'd still be voting for his, cause it's much cooler.

[Edit: Slight change with Text. Now there's only three fonts all up on the page..excluding the 'comiKaze' logo.]

Dude, that's nothing like mine! Your's is WAY more energetic...! (and better captures the whole 'kamikaze' thing...)

One tip with the whole 'design thing' though... as far as fonts go, pick one (or two if you must) and stick with it. Unless, of course, envelope-pushing is your thing. It's not a RULE. Just a guideline. ;)

now we didn't prohibit a joint entry... nor do want to suggest as an impartial judge that a amalgamation of both these posters could be a sure-fire winner... just thinking out loud here :D

BTW I might also hint that there may be around $100 worth of rare graphic novels up for grabs...

In case anyone wants it, a higher resolution version of the Comikaze logo.

oh, PS - there's no www. necessary, just comikaze24.com
It's shorter and easier to pass on. If someone types in www.comikaze24.com it will work, but the www. bit is superfluous. :)

Actually, I wanted to clarify on whether we're still using the clock logo since the name's changed 'n' all...

Well this is my concept but I really wanted to do it in a Dave Johnson style that my hand couldn't achieve. I always overcomplicate rather than going for the sharp elegant lines I really want.

anyways tada.
