Henry PoP - LOW - Melbourne, Victoria

Hahahaha. I'm starting this later because I finished my exams really recently, and I wanted to relax, watch some soccer, and play some neglected PC games.

Just to be safe, I'll put my entry here (after all, I did chose a "contortionist" as a character ;) ). I'll be starting this at 11pm tonight! No way in hell am I waking up early, so I adjusted it so I can work late. :P I have less than one hour to rule my pages up and start. Ugh. I don't have a story. I think I'll probably rip off the premise from some generic shojo/shonen manga.

This time I'm aiming for 16 pages, or so. Last time I only cranked out a measly 8. I'm even going to ink it. Last time I slacked off. I started out procastinating, drew a bit, went out and bought some lunch and booze, came back, drew a bit, went out to drive and got some dinner for everyone. Yeah. Real effective use of my time, but I'm pretty happy how that last story turned out. T'was a fun time coz I was with fellow Oztaku-ers.

Woohoo! Done the art. No inking, but I rendered them decently enough. Not 16 pages, but meh. 12 is around 16-ish, so I'm okay with it. Guh. My work ethic sucked. Better than last year, but I slept through most of time (What?! My bed is toasty warm. Like I'm gonna get out from there into the cold. Only until someone turns on the ducted heating and leaves it on for a good while)

I have to do the dialogue and then I can post it up. Yay for me. All this means to you is that I am just bumping my thread. Probably obscuring the more comic readable posts.:P

I haven't gotten around to reading anyone's comics, but I'm gonna enjoy taking the time tomorrow to read as many as humanly possible.

Mark: Yes I did! ^__^ Although I didn't start on it like I said I would. I started on it at 3am last night. I finished all the thumbnails and dialogue. I finished with a few hours to spare still.

Okay. Everyone knows someone who's really uptight and real conservative. I kinda used an old manga premise (meeting someone you hate and falling in love), and turned it to meeting a person you hate, have a one night stand and hope they leave in the morning. I was going to put the falling in love part later, but I ran out of time, and the ending suits the characters. Plus it's a bit sad.

Just wish I could have more time to work on the dialogue. A lot of it sucks and it should have given more insight to the characters. Meh. It's a 24 hour comic. You get what you pay for ;P

Here it is, all 12 pages:

Can't...read...last...page...

The artwork is looking beautiful. So considering it looks so great, it seems a shame to have it in such a teensy-weensy size.

Maybe if you could make it bigger, then I will heap praise upon you.

Hey, nice work there Henry ^_^ Glad you could enter this year.
You gonna polish it up in time for Doujicon?

Sorry for not being able to organise a group one for us this year :( I promise I'll try to do it for next year.

Okay. Anyone know of any other image hosting? For some reason, it's resizing all my images even tho they're smaller than 300kb (1MB for it to resize). Fuck!

I use http://xs.to/

They're free, no need to register etc, you can upload a lot. I just uploaded my comic using them when Geocities ran out.

Thanks, Thomas. I used XT host instead :P They're more ambigous when it comes to adult content than xs.to (they explicitly say no to nudity).
And thanks for what you said about my art. Even though it's rushed work. ^^; (last minute rushed work too! :P)

Avi: You want this published? I think it's pretty crap for it to go to press. The story is okay, but the art and dialogue suck. I suppose if I work on it, I could have it presentable by the time it's needed. I just have to come up with a swanky colour cover. Hell, I could polish up last year's 24 comic and chuck it in too.
No worries about no organised thingymabob. I was having plenty of fun watching the cup as a means of procrastination.

Merrk: Cheers. It's fixed now, so if you get the chance to look at this post again, you'll be able to read it.

Oh Noes! I just realised that this can't be eligable to win prizes (yeah, like I was expecting to win something anyway). Too late. It finished at 11:15 or something, and I posted this...later. Drat.

Holy crap man, your art looks as if you had life models right there in the room with you, shagging their brains out...You've got some knack for anatomy! I love the sketchyness of it too, it adds to the poetry of the peice. Awesome man!

This is great. And the art seems to get better as you get further in.
