Kim Gamble fan thread

I know he's not a comics creator, but I'm struggling to think of a more talented Australian children's book illustrator (aside from Shaun Tan's earlier work).

I grew up with Michael Stephens' and Kim Gambles' brilliant adventure books Titans!, Eddy the Great, The Prince of Kelvin Mall and that really insane one with the intergalactic train where the children try to escape luxurious slavery. Can't remember the name of that one. It beat the hell out of Harry Potter, anyhow. It's the one where the brave young hero has to swim through a river full of crocodiles at night to escape from the hotel.

Anywhoo, unfortunately Mr Gamble does not seem to have a website because if he did there would be many hours of admiring his wonderfully crafted illustrations. All I can seem to find are his little bio pieces for the various Australian publishers that have had him on board. Here’s one.

Has anyone else read any of Gamble’s books? Anyone know a portfolio website? I was a bit too old to start reading the Tashi series but if anyone else remembers his work with Michael Stephens I’d love to take a trip down nostalgia lane.
