This thread is designed for any and all questions regarding the Operation Funnybone book. As each question is answered this initial message will be edited to include them.

What is Operation Funnybone?
Operation Funnybone is a registered charity and therefore audietd by the Australian Taxation Office. The first fund-raising project has been a self-titled coffee-table book, from which all profits will go directly to the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. More projects are planned for later publication, however the focus is on the initial book for now.

Is it officially sanctioned by the Peter Mac Cancer Centre?
Yes. The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre has a strict set of guidelines and framework within which all projects must operate. Peter Mac does not permit its logo being used in any project without it being approved by the Community Relations and Fundraising Department.

I contributed to the book, how much is it for my copy?
There is a special discount for the first copy of the book to those who contributed to it. First copy is $9.50, however all subsequent copies will cost you the full retail price of $34.95. It is a book intended to build marketability of the Australian comic art industry but also to raise money for charity.

How do we contact a particular artist in the book? Or find out what other work they've done?
Most artists when interviewed have requested that their contact details were not made publicly available. If you wish to contact any of the artists we would be happy to pass on your details to them. You can email Glen at guffman@bigpond.net.au

Thanks Maggie for setting this up and thanks Darren for getting the ball rolling. This forum will hopefully fill the gap where the funnybone.org.au board had problems. Funnybone.org.au will be scaled back in terms of functionality over the coming months and those who use that board are requested to migrate to this forum. I expect it will eventually be a static information and referral site to support our other marketing strategies.

This forum will be the main source of providing and getting feedback to and from anyone with an interest in Operation Funnybone.

Kind regards

My question is: how can contributors actually buy their copy at the contributor price? Visiting the funnybone.org.au site, there is a message after entering the site that says "Click on the 'shop' link to order your copy", but I can't see the 'shop' link anywhere. And the "click to order" link on the front page just sends an email to Readers Feast, and I was under the impression that they werren't able to supply copies at the contributor price. I get the feeling I'm missing something obvious, but I can't work out what it is.

Hi Owen

The site has been revamped and scalled back to target a different audience now. Sorry for the delay in replying. I tend to check in to this forum when I am notified of a reply and in your case a notification must have slipped by.

I have some catching up to do on the contributors copies, 5 in total. Could you please email me directly with your postal address to guffman@bigpond.net.au and I will find out how much postage is and get back to you.

regards

Glen
