Kranburn, a post-apoc comic in progress

Postby BMB on Fri Jul 17, 2009 12:04 am

Wa-hey!

I've had a post-apoc comic in my head bubbling away for a while now and I've finally got to a point that I need to get it onto paper (errr...tablet :p ). The style I'm going for is somewhere between my Stark Reality art and the speedy 'go with my gut' art of B&W. This is good as I'm enjoying this more...expressive(?) sorta art where I can just put pen to tablet and go with the flow.

Not sure yet what I’ll end up doing with this, probably make it into a webcomic once a have a certain amount of pages, and then see if any post-apoc magazines want an ongoing series in their mag. :p

The idea: I was basically wondering what I’d do if there was a disaster of some sort in my area that wiped out most of the population etc and figured where I’d go etc and it pretty much went from there. Wont say any more than that as its all part of the story. For the time being I figure I’ll update this thread with new pages as they get created until I figure out what exactly the big plan is. :|>

And so without further waffle, here are the first 4 pages, started on Monday:

Thanks follett! :|>

Ha ha antains, topical. :p

"Can...can you smell farts?"

"Yeah, like rotted eggs..."

"Oh shit, horde of muties on the inward bounder!"

"Y'know, the muties didn't actually smell originally, they add the smell so you can smell the danger."

"NOW AIN'T THE TIME MAN!"

Errr....sorry, went on a bit of a daydream there.

And now, page six, finished just a wee bit earlier:

Apocalishous* work BMB. I second Troy's motion- "More! More! More!"

*"Apocalishous" (v) something so tasty it brings about the end of days
