New page 9
. . . now that we're back from holidays, and it was a really really great trip, we enjoyed being in Japan for the 2 weeks so much, almost didn't want to come back and we didn't have enough time to see everything we wanted. Tried going to the Anime Festival that was on at the time, but the orderly queue was soooooooo long (1.5 km) and they had over 126,000 people attending this year over that weekend. Oh wow!!!!! . . . so it was just packed and we didn't go in

So here's the next page for "Deadman's Curse"

** For those who have been watching this thread, would you all be interested in seeing some of the behind the scenes work on this graphic novel?? Some of the setups for the 3D and the work in progress?? **

Have decided to change the font perminantly to "digital strip" for readability, especially on the net. ;)

Any comments are welcome.

It's become a little easier to make these pages for the story, although my moods haven't been of much help lately; they interfere from time to time. Been experimenting a little with the lighting and colours.

Nice work Volty. The lettering looks good and the mood is right, if not a little dark. I'd add some highlights here and there for clarities sake, but it's great to see this coming together.

Thankx for the feedback.

Yes, I still have a problem with it being a bit too dark, still can't seem to resolve this one . . . might have to do a bit more post work on the pages.

I hope these next two pages are a bit brighter :)

More pages soon, just some minor work to be done on "Mary" and I should be able to do a lot more done before the end of the year.

Nice work once again, though I think it's a little jarring having Mary on her own page. I reckon you could make one page out of these two.

Darn!!
:'( Had a harddrive meltdown in the past month with the backup storage and lost some of my work for this graphic novel. Some of the pages have to be re-created so I can't post anything new until after the New Year at the earliest. Luckily most of the main scene files had been saved elsewhere; and the hair/fibre effects renderer in Lightwave has been giving me grief as well with being unstable  The joys of 3D and computer graphics . . . I can see why not many are willing to tackle doing a comic this way.

PS. I did have a reason in mind for the 2 pages being set-up as they are.

Hey there,

I read all of the pages you've posted so far, and I think they're fantastic! I love the dark, atmospheric look you've created and the 3D artwork looks great. The story is very absorbing and the characters look interesting, I'm looking forward to seeing more! The font's a little hard to read at first but the later pages fix that problem. :)

I would love to write a review of this for Paperback Reader once it's finished.
