Another post-challenge edit: I accidentally misspelled Magsby's surname on page 14, noticed immediately, and wrote the correct spelling elsewhere on the page. But it wasn't until I scanned the page (as previously noted, after the 24 hours was up) that I could cut and paste over the typo.

Thanks guys! Sorry the ending's not too cut-and-dried - I normally make a point of trying to wrap up all the loose ends in my stories and making sure everything is explained, but while writing this one it occurred to me that it might be more interesting to leave things open to interpretation, forcing the reader to engage with the story more. But due to the wonders of sleep deprivation, the end may come across as less of a thought-provoking twist and more of a shambles.

I'm not too sure myself any more exactly what my intentions were, but for what it's worth my current favourite possibility goes like this: Karen was right about Magsby's briefcase containing the seeds of all stories. Accordingly, when he climbed into the suitcase he became part of that source of creation. So that's how he came to be a character in the story that I was writing, which is how his arm could apparently be in two places at once.

Or maybe it's something to do with time travel.
