Laura Seabrook (Barnsley), "E-ventful" 24 pgs, FINISHED

I won't be starting proper like until about 11am on Sunday, but I just thought I'd start the topic so I can point folk to it elsewhere.

I have this weird notion to do the lot in either a) Adobe Illustrator, or b) Paint Tool SAI - either way with my el cheapo ALDI tablet. I've started using Illustrator to do my webcomics (both this page of Tales of the Galli and Trope World were done using it) partly because I figure that once I've got some expertise in it, doing a graphic novel might be a lot faster.

However, I found out last weekend when doing stuff for Drawing Day, that I can still use Paint Tool SAI when fatigued, but Illustrator just dissolved into a mess of frustration. Illustrator reminds me (oddly enough) of MS Word, in that most of what can be done is not what's typed, but the application and management of style. Love that, but maybe a 24 hour challenge (for me is about what I can see in front of me).

Oh, the reason I'm starting "late" this year was because I attended the opening of the Happily Ever After exhibition here in Newcastle. I have an artist's book there, which I'd been working on all week. I even got my photo in the paper!

But, I felt absolutely stuffed this morning, and I need one more good night's sleep before tackling the Comikaze. See folks tomorrow. :|>

Yes - certainly lifted my spirits!

Today is shaping up to be a bit like 2007 round Newcastle way (Barnsley is about 1cm left of centre):

Thought I'd mention all the previous words first...

Yahey! It has begun. Looking good, Laura. =D

As they are more definite about their plans, I've drawn them more clearly.

I'm setting up my laptop in the lounge for the next few pages. Two much running on the study PC and the tablet is starting to act "jerky".

You'll find Luca in Tales of the Galli, and Laurel Galli in Return to Second Life.

Gah, have just discovered that my monitor setting were all out. Have reset it now but it means a lot of my images I've recently created are very very light!
