FINISHED! Here's page 8!

Man, I thought one of the reasons I opted for the 8 page category was so I wouldn't be awake at this ungodly hour. So much for that theory.

Now, if I stick to my plan, I get to have some sleep then wake up and do it all over again!

High five Owen, that was a really good read, clean lines and a nicely wrapped up script. Good luck for your next one!

Thanks Alecat!

By the way, there were a few art mistakes (missing whiskers etc) that I noticed on some pages after scanning, which I amended on the original pages during the 24 hour period. I haven't re-scanned them yet, but I might at some point in the future.

Very clean linework! Nice, haven't seen your art is freaking ages.

Do you use a lightboard at all, or do you just erase the original lines from under the inks?
What, a sig? I'll get to that later.

Heh - I didn't expect anyone but me to notice that - but I thought someone might perhaps notice if I started altering files after my scheduled finishing time...

Thanks! I've used a lightboard for past challenges (no time for erasing when you're under the gun!), but this one was just pencilled in blue pencil and then scanned as pure black and white at a high res, so the pencils don't get picked up.

IMHO you can't go wrong with ghost stories starring a cute bunny and kitty. I really loved this :-)

Nicely told - solid classic kids adventure / ghost story structure, and your usual clean, strong style with a surprisingly polished look to it. But then, you always do such strong work, so it's not surprising XD

Thanks, Amanda and Erin!

Erin, the polish probably has a lot to do with the time I spent on each page, even taking into account my adventures away from the drawing board. I was trying to be quick, too! I really have no idea how I ever managed to do a page an hour in years past.

Heh, you did furries :P

Well, that went surprisingly well considering your AFK adventures. Good for you. I'm still impressed by how clean it all is under the pump. I suppose I shouldn't be, by now, but I never learn. Plus, you managed a story that wrapped up in time and made sense. Nice one!

Sarah, they're called "funny animal comics" when they're suitable for all ages.

As a Carl Barks fan, I didn't even consider that having talking animals as protagonists was out of the ordinary. It was only after I'd finished both stories that I realised it might put some readers off.

Also, I never mentioned it, but James Fox was apparently a real life bushranger in South Australia (according to the five minutes of research I did in aid of this story). The names of his companions and the woman they robbed are also accurate. The treasure was an invention prompted by the inclusion of 'sterling' as a random word, though. And I don't know for certain whether he actually looked like a fox...

He is pretty foxy!

[edit] Actually yeah, I find it really annoying that you can't draw talking animals these days or even have fun with drawing animal personas without being labelled a "furry". It's a pretty disappointing situation and I'm going to blame... uh... hm... the furries for it.
