Melissa Waterman -Brand New Day- Adelaide - FINISHED(kinda)

Postby chibinezu on Sat Jun 06, 2009 1:24 pm

Okay this is the first time I've ever done one of these although I've been a spectator of a couple of participants (Erin M and Tim D) for a few years now.
Although I had at least 5 seperate dreams last night about how I slept through/buggered up/failed in some way to do this today.. I'm hoping to prove my subconscious wrong T_T

I started at 10:30 SA time so my words were approving promotion motorway

Nearly finished the script. Hope to start drawing soon.

Melissa! I'm so glad you joined us. Owen told me you and Erin would be fronting with the goods, which is awesome. So front already! I'll be watching you ^_^

I'm sorry for the quality of the art/scan/writing etc ^^;
It's only pencilled at the moment which I'm really hoping I'll have the time to go back and ink and/or shade it ^^; but I think I'm being a bit hopeful at the moment ^^;;

Will finish the inking on it after I've convinced my pinky and ring finger that they do not in fact need to fall off.

Ow.

I'm sorry if it doesn't make sense.

It made sense to me! (Though you can never truly know authorial intent etc etc)

Really great stuff, very surreal. Congrats on kinda-finishing :)

I think the second time reading it, it made a little more sense ^_^

Nice story. I liked when she was digging that whole and then started to fall. Think they were done really well.

Not bad! I was lost a couple o times but quickly found my way back on track. There are some nice passages in this, where the panels and pacing really build the drama.

It worked for me :)
Actually, the ending kinda reminds me of the Dark Tower series

Hey Mel! Wow, we both did our first Comikaze this year. Snap! <3

Your comic is great - very touching. Although I can't imagine how awful losing someone like that would feel for real I think you captured the desperation of the girl left behind wonderfully!

Hey Mel,

Congrats on going the whole 24 on your first Comikaze! Even if you didn't get to ink some pages, it still counts because you produced a complete story - and yes, it is a complete story that makes sense to me, although I may have to ask some questions about some of the finer details at the next meeting. I particularly love the pacing in the flatlining scene, and the page where she's falling looks quite wonderful.

By the way, I put your contributor's copy of Fist Full Of Comics #3 in your bag at Pulp Fiction Comics, so drop in and pick it up soon.
