Hmmm. The images are coming out all small-like. Can everyone see/read that? If not, I guess I'll have to work out what's going on. Not one of my talents, really! Also, I have now drawn a brain-in-a-jar with pincer claws. I can die happy.
Aaaaand page 3. I'm surrounded by people who can draw real good, and I'm finding it terribly intimidating. They're intimidating me. Or something. Now: the big question. Dinner, or more comicking? And, in other news, it's almost time for more panadol!
Page six! I'm totally heading down the home straight now. And this one has colour. Yes, colour! Oh, and for the record: Caanan has pretty excellent taste in music.
Page 8... And I'm done! One of these years, I really must try for something larger than 8 pages. For now, though, I'm having a celebratory starburst lolly. And there's nothing you can do to stop me!
NB - you're an absolute genius as far as I'm concerned (apart from Dr Disagreeable having a pop-corn maker for a head....). VERY funny. But it is late. And I'm drunk (well .056). So maybe I'm not the best judge... But bloody great work as far as I'm concerned.
Nikolai, you take that Starburst lolly and you eat it. Because you deserve it. As always, top knotch story telling. And I wish I had've written the brain in a jar...
Then i looked at Breachy, "Nick's funny" i said. She looked at me oddly. It was the look of someone examining a simpleton. I felt her answer though it did not come from her lips. "of coourse he's funny!" she's right. i did know that... but it's 6am. i've now been up 22 hours. i drew for 18 of those. I drew women's pleasure devices i'm told.
Thanks, guys, for saying nice things. That's really cool. Jake, I'm inclined to agree with you on the popcorn-maker-head front, but I'm sure Dr. Disagreeable wouldn't! He is, you know, a bit disagreeable... (boom-tish!)
It was certainly an experience drawing stick-figures in the same room as scary-good artists like Trev and Dave and Caanan. I think I'd like to do it again. And Ant with his big news, and Jen with her ears -- it was all pretty exciting!
Ha, funny stuff! And proof that a good story can help you forget the fact that it's acted out by stick figures.
Actually, I think the simple art is really nice. They may be stick figures, but they're elegant stick figures. And they have really interesting day jobs.
