guh. will scan and post tomorrow. probably in one big hit. got through the first 8 pages. I procrastinated a lot, though. If I cut down on procrastination tomorrow, I should be able to get another 8 pages in and scan, and letter and tone. guh. haven't even got dialogue yet.

took longer than I wanted, but meh. It's over the 24hr mark, but technically I only started this now yesterday anyway. :P Not really happy with the story. I didn't spend too long on it.

I copped out a lot here. It did give me a lot of practice with more design orientated pages and experimentation with text. I have to say, the lack of effort here is not entirely unassociated with manga. Heh. Thanks. I had a job back when sort-of-recently doing manga illustrations. I got my practice in the style, though I'm still fucking rusty. Pretty happy I still got it. :D

Henry this is great!

Plus you'll be another bloke at the table at the next meet who can explain exactly why we put ourselves through the 24 hour challenge. I keep coming back but i have no idea why.

You realise that if Paul sees this, he'll do the maths such that you could easily finish the entirety of The List in just under a month provided you quit work, hygiene and sleeping (585 continuous hours)... heheh

Top notch work, mate

rumpusroomie: Lawl. I find myself asking why I am doing a comic in the time I should be studying for an exam. :P It is a bit of a struggle to get it together, but what other time would you subject yourself to pushing your comiking to its limits?

Egofreaky: Well, let's hope Paul isn't reading the 24 hour comic challenge this year. I can work fast if I get the momentum going, but then I do a lot of redoing and redesigning pages...it doesn't really work in practice.
And thanks. :D

Ha! I started reading Mr. Pop's entry then was called away. I thought to myself, "I know, I'll be a smartass and reply with a breakdown of the math, calculating how long it would take to complete The List - but I was beaten to it.

Lovely indeed, Mr. Pop . A bitter(woman)/sweet story. You know, it was Trev (Sawbones) who directed me here! :p

...it seems you CAN scan images! ;^)

O__o i can sorta see the ai yazawa/NANA in it.

It's so neatly inked and toned and the character style is very josei, I haven't seen your other styles but from just this i would think you've been drawing josei manga for a while XD

tinmancomplex: Cheers. And boobies are special. ;)

Paul: Wuh? Scan? I don't know how that happened. :P
I suppose Trev's snitching went along these lines: "You know that good-for-nothing lazy artist you got? He got 10 pages done! Bitch slap him one for me, eh?" :P
I'm on annual leave to study for exams. I forced myself to scan stuff coz I'm at home and I have no excuse. :D
btw. will work on the list more after Tues, as last day of exams! And no more studying until late july! :D Just work :(

LauraSeabrook: It's not that bad. It's a good change. Some stuff is bad, but then you realise that it's actually good instead.

exifer: Got more Erika Sakurazawa and Moyocco Anno instead of Ai Yazawa. I tried.
I'm used to inking and toning, so this wasn't a stretch. The style was something I never attempted, though. Never really did that whole elongated model proportion thing (and I still didn't go all the way with it either), and not been design centric with layout either. I'm pretty stoked you think I got the style to look josei, particularly of all the manga styles I've attempted, it's probably the most difficult. Not because it's technically challenging, but there's a lot of stuff in it you can't take for granted (design is more important, so is text, so are proportions and gestures). So thanks.

Yeah! Yeah! It was Trev! He said all that stuff. He was laughing all crazy like and dancing like a madman. And he can't dance, I think.

Ok, all right then. It was more along the lines of "Hey Paul check out the Comikaze stuff. Henry’s entry is great."

See. The truth is never as much fun.

More work on The List? See, now you've gone and written that for everyone to see! No getting out of it now! ;^)

October release it is then!

Paul.

I like the tones and your effort in page design, especially page 3. I don't know much/any manga but I gather that design element was one of the influences you were aiming for. The story itself is pretty slight but nicely told - however, the main character's retort after being fired did seem out of place, although it is hilarious (perhaps the hilarity makes it seem out of place in this story).
