Fiend Magazine comics section

Hi all.

Some of you know me, most of you don't My name is JAn and what's most germane for this forum is that I've just been made the comics editor for Fiend magazine, Australia's only dark and alternative culture magazine, with Australia-wide distribution through newsagents and specialty stores.

Fiend comes out quarterly, and the August issue is all locked up, but I'm looking for material for the issue hitting stores in November. I've made no firm decisions about the format or the content at the moment - I've been in the role less than a week - but I've got more than a few ideas about making the Fiend comics section as different and interesting as the rest of the magazine. I know that the print comics section will be complimented but

(Of course sending said material does not mean it will automatically be reviewed, but not sending it in is a pretty sure-fire way of NOT having it reviewed.)

Material to giveaway to our readers is always appreciated, too.

As I said, I have no concrete shape for the comics section, but will try to be active here with updates and general contributions. Possibilities include interviews, art samples, short pieces, etc.

funny was just thinking bout this the other day ..

I think a bit of a thing about Ross Campell would be good (goths in comics treated regularly)

though i don't know if a subbmission by me would be accepted ;p

Hello Jan,
We are currently finishing up the media for the 24-Hour Challenge and would be looking to have a media release out shortly re: the winners and how this year???s challenge went. Mark is currently getting quotable quotes and other material from winners for this purpose. Would your mag be interested? Or is it just reviews?
