Free superhero themed eBook

Postby MrNomas on Mon Jan 24, 2011 2:30 pm

Hi all, I wanted to let you all know that there is a new superhero themed eBook on Smashwords. Of course, I'm the author so I think it's brilliant but it seems that this would be a community of people that might enjoy it. Usually when someone wants to pimp their (insert product/service/etc) they'd just create an account, stick the link in their signature, and post away but I've run into a roadblock: I just don't have that much to contribute. I've been out of the comic book game for a lot of years now (last thing I bought was probably Mage, Grendel, or Sin City related) and I don't want to add useless posts to your board just to let people know about the novel.

Here's why I think you'd like to know about it:
  1. It's free so that's always popular.
  2. It is about a non-powered PI in a world of super heroes which is topical for the board.
  3. While I'm from the US, I'm currently living in Perth. So it's sort of local.
Now I've been lurking for a few weeks now trying to find something to contribute but so far, no luck. Of course I'll continue to lurk and post when appropriate. If you are interested in checking out the book, the link is in my sig.

Hi MrNomas,

Thanks for the free read. A cool concept - I'm always a fan of the 'real' guy in a 'super' circumstance idea and fresh takes on the theme are always good to see.

Keep up the good work. I look forward to reading the rest.

Thanks for the read and the comment. I'm currently working on the second book. Almost done with chapter 14. It's already 15k words longer than No Hero and, according to my wife, is a more fluid and faster read than No Hero. If I only didn't have to work, pay bills, raise children... I'd be done by now. As it is, probably end of March for the first draft. Maybe sooner. After that, it'll be at least a month of edits and working with the cover artist. Just so everyone knows, it is now available on many other services including iBooks, Amazon, and Nook. This should make it easier to get it into whatever reader you want. Where possible I made it free and where not I made it as cheap as I could. For those that must have a paper copy, it is available on Amazon and CreateSpace. I literally make pennies on each sale but I had to put it up there in order to get it in front of those audiences. Again, glad you enjoyed it.
