Hey Bill, sweet comp!

But there aren't any T&Cs on the site.
I'm wondering a couple things, hoping maybe you can clarify them before I syndicate this post to the OzTAKU crew.

1)How is it being judged?
2)What happens to the IP rights on properties that don't win? (i.e. I know that Streets ran a design comp with one winner 2 years ago, but claimed ownership rights over the IP over [i]all[i/] entrants, giving them a few decades worth of campaigns for a measly $5K)
3)If you're the winning illustrator, do you get to work on your own thing? Or are you just illustrating someone else's work, like the winner of the writing comp?
4)Isn't $50/pp a little low by industry standards? (I know, Top Cow, having that in your port folio alone is worth more than the money... it just seems a little screwy to be so low paid compared to the writing winner)

hey there in answer
1. the judging is being done by top cow creators on the basis of work suitable for printing
2. that is included in the entry forms etc
3. artist is illistrating the writer story
4. $50pp x 24 pages = $1200usd, a bit more than the writer. i agree it could be a bit more, but to be hoinest the main benifit is getting your name out there, can you think of a better way to circulate this.
the entry form should be added to the web site anytime, however email me at info@pulpexpo.com and i will forward them striaght to you.

$1200 us would be about $1400 aust. The Australian dollar is about 86c to the American dollar. But look at the Australian dollar at the end of the year. It might hit 90c U.S
Fear what you can't understand and hate what you can't conquer, bitch!
