2007 24 hour challenge time?

Postby rumpusroomie on Sat Mar 17, 2007 3:43 am

"Is it time to get preparing for 2007's comp?" he asks in a dangerously subversive tone...

I'm currently overseas for 3 months holdays so can't help until mid May but SOMEBODY had to ask the question and it might as well be me!

If I'm not mistaken, it's June 9 - 11 this year (Queen's birthday weekend).

Details for poster? To plagiarise Mark's post from last year...

Create an A3 poster

* which includes the date; Queens' Birthday Weekend June 9-11th
* the logo (http://www.pulpfaction.net/24hr_2005/i/clock.gif)
* A space for the sponsors (roughly a 300 x 150mm area)
* the year- 2007
* It will be colour but it has to print well in Black and White
* And the title which at this stage is the Oz Comic 24 hour Challenge

Anything changed? anything new need to be added?

Actually now is a good time to start, maybe a little late, but better now then never.
I think last years committee did a good job and think i can just slink away and let them handle it.

Not to say they won't need help - helping can involve printing putting up posters, putting up a message or two on a message board or LJ, asking people to donate prizes.

FYI - I'm putting the 'official' site into a CMS so that it can be updated easily and can be more independent. I should have something to report on that soon.

Since I won the poster comp last year, I won't enter this year. So I'm MORE than happy to offer up prizes. Something up to the value of 100 bucks or so...

I'm thinking either a selection of 'essential' comic guides - Will Eisner's Sequential Art, Understanding Comics, Making Comics, etc

or a voucher. Art supply store? Comic store? Borders? What's worth the effort from you all? I'm biased toward art supplies. Anything to create more creating.

I'm way too busy with other shit this year to attempt to organise sponsors for prizes, but if someone who's the 'official' sponsors type person gets in touch with me, I'll happily divulge my contact list
I got comic shops, art supplies, electronic gaming... I got heaps of good stuff baby

Caanan - a very generous offer - we may well take you up on that. But then we'd like to see your poster of 'Comikaze!' so I'm kinda torn :D

Avi - yes please send me your pimp list!

Demongoldfish - yep could do with some extra hands - can you pm me your email address please?

Troy: consider it done, if I can figure out how to get Outlook to output to something other than their own stupid vCard format....

:) geeze you go away for a month and people do all sorts of stuff.

I'll be venue manager for a roleplaying convention that weekend (and therefore insane and busy in the build up too), but happy to be a judge again if you want me.
