2005 - December Sequential Art Competition

Postby makepeace on Mon Dec 05, 2005 12:53 pm

DECEMBER MONTHLY SEQUENTIAL ART SHOWCASE COMPETITION
as set by Decembers Winner 'XiaoLi'- as the previous months winner XiaoLi can still submit a comic but he cannot win.

Page Count:2.
Theme: Happiness
Details: chess; an octopus; a diamond

Remember, this is a chance to appear in a mini comic as well as grab some glory, have some fun, draw some comics and have a shot at the title of the Ultimate Monthly Sequential Artist (and Haberdasherer)

Post your entries (and queries) in this here thread...

Entries close Midnight Friday December 30. (note: not the 31st)

Everyone who submits an entry should PM me the next months terms by that date, whether they think they will win or not so that I can put January up as soon as possible.

This will be the last challenge for the year, and your last chance to appear in the A5 minicomic and last chance at the title of Ultimate Monthly Sequential Artist and Haberdasherer. There will be some extra voting in the new year to decide on the winner of said title.

I've got one page pencilled.

It's really really quirky, and damn impossible to try and write as cleverly as I'd hoped, but I've gotta at least be a serious contender for ONE of these damn things.

Stupid happiness, my final English exam was on happiness...

Sorry, XiaoLi... Are you specifying that we put ALL THREE of those things in a mere TWO page comic, or can we pick just one. Or two??

Answer me! My happiness depends on it! ;)

Hmm, I hope the stuff I chose was not too crazy. I just threw together random things that was on my mind.

I've been playing a lot of chess. And recently I came across the Taiwanese version of Numa Numa, which starred a cartoon octopus. And diamond just came out of nowhere. Probably I was thinking about a friend's upcoming wedding...

Pick two out of three if you like. And chess, you can just mention any part of chess, even if you just put in a single chess piece somewhere or whatever.

Hope it helps :)

Funky Chicken

Postby jacen_c on Tue Dec 20, 2005 2:54 pm

I once again accept your challenge, oh chicken man with the magic flute!

Running a bit behind schedule at the moment...my house was completed on the weekend, I've only just moved in and now 8 relatives have arrived on my doorstep for Christmas.

Just as soon as I reconnect my computer and scanner, I'll finish my entry. At the moment happiness has nothing to do with octopi- it'll be when Christmas is over!

I was going to submit an entry last time but I forgot :'( not that I would've beaten yours XiaoLi, awesome stuff!
But I'm definitley going to have a go this time, even just for the fact I get to draw an octopus :D
There was a small part of me that said "Don't eat it, it's burnt to a crisp", While another said "EAT THE DAMN CAKE!"
