Get your skates on for this one... but if you had a play in the top draw now is the time to dust it off!

Edward Albee Script Competition Presented by the AWG

Would you like to have your full length play script workshopped by the world's greatest living playwright, Edward Albee?

ENTRY DEADLINE: 03/09/2010

WHEN: 04/10/2010 to 15/10/2010

WHERE: Bondi Pavilion Theatre space

STATE: NSW

COUNTRY: AUS

The Australian Writers’ Guild in partnership with Inscription is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for one member to participate in the ten day master class and workshop with acclaimed playwright Edward Albee.

From 4 - 15 October 2010, Albee will be presenting the master class and workshop in Sydney.

In the first week Albee will spend a day teaching the group about the work of "his teachers." One day at a time will be devoted to the methodology and theatricality of the 20th century masters: Ibsen, Chekhov, Brecht, Pirandello and Beckett.

These five days will lay the foundation for each of the playwrights attending to then have their work thoroughly analysed in the second week.

The master class and workshop will be held at the newly renovated Bondi Pavilion Theatre space.

The playwrights are coming from all over Australia and are under commission from five different main stage Australian theatre companies.

This is an outstanding opportunity to work alongside one of the greats of American theatre, hear your work read by leading Australian actors and meet some of the country's best playwriting talent.

Applications must include:

• A one page CV
• The full length play you would like to workshop
• A one paragraph synopsis of the story
