Monkeys and robots

Postby Bjorn_Jarvis on Mon Jun 13, 2005 4:27 pm

I was tempted to have C-3PO and monkey magic as a dainty married couple.

Monkey just kept looking like James Brown - and I figured that James Brown deserves better than to be nagged by a British domestic servant. He is the man who said "it's too funky in here, give me some air, open up the window babe".

Finally URL-linked images into topic

Postby Bjorn_Jarvis on Mon Jun 13, 2005 5:09 pm

Yeah - I don't use forums that often and was just looking at the bodge website that I have. Have just put them into the topic to save you having to visit my website to look at the comic.

If you like following URLs like Alice going into Wonderland then chase the white rabbit into http://au.geocities.com/blosocomics

It's funny, we think of Russel Crowe the other way around in NZ...

Cheers guys

Postby Bjorn_Jarvis on Tue Jun 14, 2005 8:57 pm

Cheers Patrick. A mate just read this comic and thought Ross reminded him of himself. Whilst I've drawn something silly it does give you an idea of how crazy other people are.

Brunswick, as someone from New Zealand, why "swingball?"
I do like chilly-bin for esky and twink for liquid paper, but a tennis ball on a string flying around a pole is clearly totem tennis.
In retrospect I'm glad I shelved the 'Midget Hobbit Ninjas from New Zealand' idea - that would have been silly.

Hey nice effort! Lots of pop cultural references, I particularly liked the almost Seinfeld opening pages.

Swingball derives from a sport invented in the 14th century by the Kent village of Swing.
The village possessed a fine oaken maypole which was unused except during equinoxes and fertility rites. A local monk came up with the idea of tying an inflated pig's bladder (a 'Satan Sack') to the pole on Sundays and hitting it with a big crucifix.
This sport is not to be confused with tetherball, which was invented when unpopular German midget Willheim Tether was tied to a flagpole in 1697 and given a solid thumping by some local Prague teenagers.

See now i just though it was the complicated sport call hit-the-bloody-thing-tied-to-a-pole-with-a-bat-and-then-duck-before-it-came-back-and-hit
-you-in-the-head

i never could play that game despite the fact that i've always been very good at hitting moving people with sticks.

Wow. That was quite possibly the nerdiest thing I've ever read. And very funny.

The next time someone's bugging me, I'm gonna use that line. 'I'm sorry, I don't have a magical key or anything you need to complete your quest'. Pending your permission of course.

Sweet.

Lines to use when people are annoying you.

I would also be happy if you used "you stay here and make a plot, or do whatever you usually do when you're alone."

"Ninjas. Darn, that's all I need."

Very funny, bizarre stuff.
