Ok the media team is starting to rev up?? if anyone one can recommend any ???famous??? people in the media or comic industry that may like to be quoted as supporting the event could you PM Troy, Jacen or me?

If anyone is looking for an almost completed letter to JJJ for sponsorship of this event, just PM me.

I have been contacted by someone with contacts in JJJ who would love to run with the sponsorship letter, however, I need to run this past the ???sponsorship group.??? Because I???m too lazy to go through this whole thread again could a member of the sponsorship group contact me. Prior to this letter going out, just want to make sure all ducks are in a row??

Mark had an 'Introduction' thread last year - that would be the best place for people to say 'come see my work at...' - I think we'll be working on the exact format closer to the event.

Graeme - the sponsorship team is avi, peter and myself. I'll be chatting with Peter on april 1st about sponsorship. But feel free to contact JJJ about sponsorship, its pretty high profile and its not related to anything we've (the sponsorship team) got contacs for.

also Peter did say he may be able to get posters into every council library in metropolitan adelaide which is good for exposure.

and as a name "24 hours in Oz Comics" was something i scribbled down last year

*itchy trigger finger*

What do you all think about ozcomics24.com as the domain name?
Then, no matter what the long name is, the domain name contains the relevant bits.
And it has that 'event' sound to it. heh

my 2 cents: so far the domains I think sound the best (do people care about long domain names these days?)

24hrchallenge.com.au
ozcomicchallenge.com
ozcomicschallenge.com

Oh, and that '24 hours in Oz comics' sounds pretty good as the actual event title too Mark.

Would it be possible to track down Eddie Campbell? People that are into non-mainstream comics know who he is thanks to the Johnny Depp movie...

Okey dokey, then.

ozcomics24.com it is.

It will be set up and pointed to http://pulpfaction.net/24hr_2006/ (which, for now, is pointed to http://pulpfaction.net/24hr_2005/ ) until the new site is set up.

Wow.. I was just getting curious about the whole 24 hour comic challenge after participating in it last year. So I did a Google search and came back to the Pulp Faction boards to check out the thread - only to find that this years challenge had been miraculously reinvigorated by a whole bunch of caring people.
Seeing this kind of community is awesome. I'm sorry that I didn't hang around the boards more post-challenge 2005.
Congratulations on all the hard work. If I can help in any way (distributing pamphlets around Melbourne... viral marketing?), I will.
If nothing esle, I will definitely be competing again this year - this thing completely revitalised my confidence in storytelling through graphic media. :D
