As some of you may be aware I and my brother are starting a games centre here in Launceston. We've already coughed up a fair bit for game licences, and what not, but was wondering if anyone knows of any good free online games we could add to the fold. We've already got Kal-Online (wow is that addicitve), and Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory.

When killing and recruitment come to mind, think no further than AMERICA's ARMY.

If you're not offering internet play, then disregard the following. :)

Gunbound http://gunbound.net/ has been pretty popular. Even the Penny Arcade guys were hooked on it for a while. It's free and the people behind it intend to keep it that way.

A MMORPG to look into:
Wik and the Fable of Souls

http://www.wikgame.com/
It's not free, but I think it's just a 'buy a copy, use it as you see fit' model. Seems to be gaining popularity.

Casual players (kids, hangers on) might find stuff to do at:

or look around

I'm confused, if GunBound is free what are the pre-paid cards for? Either way it still looks good.

And I've bookmarked Wik for future reference, Ta!!!!!!!!!

I think they're for becoming a power user (perks, special features, faster servers) and for buying stuff in the shop. I haven't explored enough to really know (being a Mac user, I rarely fire up the PC. but I did try out the game for a day or two a while back).

Downloaded the games, and will try it out when I have some free time. Hope to open the business on Monday unless something unforseen happens.

For Gunbound, you can use real money to change it into game money...

With game money you can buy equipment for your character...Like little wings or peculiar flags etc...

And hope the business runs well Aaron...May the God of Commerce make your enterprise successful...Or something like that...

It's been a very slow start, but then again we haven't advertised. That luckly will change today and continue on for a while. Just a bad time to open up with everyone spending all the money on presents.

Turns out we are the only games centre in Tassie, so if we can find the customers we will have the market cornered. :)
