Just so you know I'm not allways making lame attempts to be funny, I actually did have a video game addiction problem. Back in the Mega Drive/Game Gear days, it wasn't as much of a problem, as my parents kept travelling aimlessly around the world and it was hard to make friends.

Still when we settled down a bit and my Mom found a husband to achieve this with I was still playing with it instead of making friends, studying whatever. By the time I got my Playstation, it got to the point where I would play 8 to 10 hours on a school night, and I told Dad on weekends that Mom never let me play with games, and I would spend a good 30 hours playing away on weekends. The way I got around it was by telling my Mom I was doing homework, and play the thing on Mute and I locked up. When we had the big talk of why I locked my room I told my mom I was watching Porn. Made her uncomfortable and she stopped bothering me.

Anyway when I was 17 my Dad caught on that my addiction wasn't to porn, but games and asked me to controll it.

After a month it didn't work so I gave it up cold turkey and decided to be a cartoon drawing type. When I was earning money and living on my own I tried playing games again, but the interest was lost.

Before that though when it was time to buy my first computer I was hell bent on buying a Mac as they don't make games for it. I stick to that theory.

I still play games on my phone though, but ridge racer on such a small screen and cramped controls gets tiresome after a while and it's only good for public transport and toilet play :)

Does this help?

Invest in a PC gaming rig, the keyboard/mouse setup is much more fingertips/thumbs friendly, and the games (unless they are shite console ports) are better looking, and you can turn the details up-up-up!

Right now Company of Heroes has made me its bitch...............its just soooo fucking amazing, go buy it now!

Hi, I'm BMB and I'm not trying to help you with your problem, I'm just trying to make it more expensive! :D

I think PC games are over rated. I have a souped up 386 DX with 4 megs of RAM and a soundblaster Pro and I can't get Need For Speed most wanted working on it :(

Full on PC gamer, really looking forward to returning to the roots with the Wii coming out at the end of the year. Doesn't necessarily mean I'll be picking it straight away. Damn that's one fine fly out console set up they have though. Brings the fun back into gaming.

The Playstation consoles have a huge range of controllers... if you don't like the poxy ones they come with, shop around. Logitech make some good ones.
Same with PC.

That being said, the Wii is really going to revolutionize gaming, I reckon, as the control system is so totally intuitive.

now that game made me pull my hair out! the adventures of link on the old nintendo system. It was a gold cartridge that had it's own battery in it to store memory from the game. My uncle lost the frickin map and i was three years in the wilderness wandering like david caradines character in kung fu. I shifted school one year and met another zeldarite and we swapped stories and he told me to lay a bomb on gannons two mountains in the far upper left hand side of the map.
Yes ladies and gentlemen i sleep much better now....

I work at EB Games... it's so easy to go bankrupt with these things... one guy at the store admits to buying hundreds of games and never playing them, just because he feels he must "own them all" D:

I was always a massive gaming nerd, but these days the only thing that gets me off my bum is COD4, or guitar hero. Guitar Hero purely because it's THE party game to break out when people come round. But in the days before friends, ohhhhh Mario and Zelda were my friends :P I miss my Snes...
