next to some topics it says OLD, next to others it says OLD and pulses!

Is this some sinister disease that'a taken over some topic, do they need lancing like a boil?

Is all this info hidden somewhere in the FAQs that i can't find, something telling me what all the pretty icons Maggie's worked so hard on mean?

Pulsing old just means it was popular. Though I'm still unsure what makes ity achieve this status... I think if it has more than 2 pages on the thread, they assume it's popular, and make it boogie.

FInding out what the icons mean is just a case of looking down at the bottom of each page. There should be a legend there.

A legend of what the icons mean is at the bottom of each forum.

The pulse indicates it was popular.

From my observations it seems that if the topic gets 25 or more replies it is considered popular and the tell-tale heartbeat begins... kathump... kathump... kathump...

aahhh so totally obvious! I knew it would be. I was spending all my time up the top looking for the answers when at the bottom of the page the answer is staring me in the face
