Black House favourites Chris Sequeira (writer of The Dark Detective) and Jason Paulos (EEEK! and After the World) will be making a special appearance at Kings Comics Sydney on Saturday 30th October.

Celebrating the launch of Jason's EEEK! US trade collection from Asylum Press and Chris's new story in Marvel's X-MEN: CURSE OF THE MUTANTS – X-MEN VS. VAMPIRES, the guys will be singing copies of The Dark Detective and the Australian EEEK! as well.

See below - the inimitable Kings press release can't be beat!

EEEK! IT’S ELEMENTARY MY DEAR KINGSTERS – With Halloween and the new ‘Walking Dead’ television series just around the corner, the scares and spooks are well on their way, and two of Australia’s premier fright-mongers will be visiting our store with their wares and scares!

On Saturday the 30th of October, KINGS COMICS will be hosting the ever-decaying JASON PAULOS and the imminently gory CHRIS SEQUERIA between 12pm and 2pm, and they’ll be ghoulishly signing their very own books and comics for anyone who drops by and says hi!

If you’re not up to scratch on who these indecently talented guys are, JASON PAULOS has been writing and drawing comics since the late Eighties and is known for his anthropomorphic private dick HAIRBUTT THE HIPPO. Lately Jason has been getting into retro-horror and will soon have his early editions of the brilliant EEEK! comic published in the U.S. as a graphic novel by Asylum Press. Jason currently has a newEEEK! comic released through Aussie publisher Black House Comics with brand new stories not showcased in the EEEK! collection

CHRIS SEQUERIA is also a veteran Australian comic writer, creating and writing a horde of heroic and horrific concepts that have appeared on newsstands nationwide, including PULSE OF DARKNESS, RATTLEBONE: THE PULP-FACED DETECTIVE, THE BORDERLANDER, and many others. He has also written for U.S. publishers, most notably contributing a Dazzler story in the recent X-MEN: CURSE OF THE MUTANTS – X-MEN VS. VAMPIRES #1. Locally, Chris is currently writing the critically lauded DARK DETECTIVE: SHERLOCK HOLMES, an original Sherlock Holmes series also published by Black House Comics.

‘Dark Detective #5’ is currently on sale around Australia and he has also just released his ‘Pulse of Darkness: The Vampire Syndrome’ graphic novel, a 140-page collection of art from the cream of Aussie comics artists like Kurt Stone, Gary Chaloner, W. Chew ‘Chewie’ Chan, Paul Abstruse, Jan Scherpenhuizen, Dan Lynch and Swampy O’Reilly.

So if you’re a fan of all things creepy, spooky, and altogether terrifyingly strange, drop by our store at310 PITT STREET in SYDNEY on SATURDAY OCTOBER 30 between midday and 2pm and meet these talented guys and get yourself something signed, all while checking out some of our local talent’s best books!

To check out more comics from our talented local folks, head on over tohttp://www.blackhousecomics.com/ and have a squiz about.

Attendance was pretty poor which didn't really surprise me considering we only spent a week or two promoting the thing. We had a bunch of nice posters and books from Black House and I did a few sketches for fans.

For those who missed the postings on TwitterFace:

Time to spill some beans.

A few weeks ago we were approached by an advertising agency who wanted to use Paul Mason's The Soldier Legacy in a campaign.

Negotiations ensued with the end result being that last Monday a TV spot was filmed for a major national brand using the Soldier (and his eight foot tall standee). I can't tell you the name of the company yet but the spots will air from October 9 around the country and will provide the widest exposure for any Australian comic that I can recall.

It was filmed in Kings Comics in Sydney, closing the store for the day. The entire shop was decked out top to tail with Black House Comics books, posters and merchandise - The Dark Detective, EEEK!, After the World, Terra, The Twilight Age and of course The Soldier Legacy everywhere Marvel and DC would normally be. If only it was like that every day!

I will post photos from the shoot as they come to hand and once the ad airs a copy will be on www.blackhousecomics.com - but stay glued to your sets October 9 - it'll be a big day!

I was just waxing eloquent on Twitter (translation: spouting shite) and I just wanted to jump back to this thread nearly 2 years after you started it to say "congratulations" and kudos. You guys have been working hard and serious and not 'effing around' and you deserve praise for that.

So... good fucking job. :)
