Trigan Empire / Look and Learn

Postby Daniel McKeown on Mon Jul 18, 2005 1:35 pm

Who was it in Australian comics who collected these things? Dillon?! Trudy?! I saw a handful of Look and Learns from 1982 on the weekend but I don't remember who it is who likes Trigan Empire. I can't find the posts discussing it either. Anybody remember?

Trigan Empire

It was Trudy that had the collected book, which if I owned a copy, you'd have to prise out of my cold, dead hands.

It had Trigan Empire in at least one issue; I assumed it was reprints rather than non-Lawrence stuff (did other artists work on it?)

Yup, I've got the collected hardcover. (Dang, Jase - must get it back off my Brother so I can show you - he's introducing his kids to it's Boy's Own majesty.) Alas I don't have it handy to check the artist's name.

It's one of the bestest things ever. Ever.

How'd I miss this?! I'm right into Trigan Empire, no matter who the artist was (though Lawrence and Ron Embleton are the top picks).

There's a new complete limited edition series of these coming out - only 500 or so of each, I think I heard, but they're excruciatingly expensive :(.

I've replaced some of my old Look and Learn issues, but not many - my mother gave them all away to a neighbour, who no doubt chucked them out!

Check out:

Daren, thanks, that book looks tasty...

Trudy, there were other magazines we had from childhood that all went too!

Those Trigan Empire volumes are tempting, aren't they? These guys have really done the job properly, using the original artwork wherever possible. If I gave up eating...

Cheers,
