Hi all! My name is Neil and I live in Sydney. I am a huge comic book fan, I have been reading since about 1989. I am mainly a DC reader, although I do read a bit of Marvel. My brother is an up and coming artist, so I am trying to get into Australian comics. (That raises all new issues, for another time.)

My favourite writers are Gail Simone, Grant Morrison, Mark Waid and Marc Andreyko.

I have been to the last few Supanovas and have been a little disappointed that they have been focusing more on anime more and more with each event. I know anime is more popular at the moment, so I guess they had to.

I was so happy to hear about Armageddon and that Gail Simone is confirmed as a guest. She would have to be my favourite writer at the moment. I now hear it has been moved to Melbourne due to the clash of dates with Supanova. I know this was probably done out of necessity, but it is frustrating for me as if I want to go I now have to try and arrange to get down there.

Hey all.

I'm new. Stumbled across this site just the other day and thought "I'll have a whack at that."

So I'm registered and ready to roll :)

About me?

The first comic I ever picked up was Captain America 365 and I haven't missed an issue yet (although, in various house moves, there are a couple of good chunks in the middle that have gone AWOL).

Apart from that, I'm mostly a Dark Horse reader. I dunno. Their type of thing seems to appeal to me.

I'm a dad of three andthe local Zombie Master. I play Horrorclix at my local comic shop and it was on their website that I noticed a link to here.

Umm... That's me in a nutshell.

I'm also a dark horse fan and of basically anything done by (or created by) Mike Mignola.
Welcome aboard, knockaroundguy.

Thanks for the warm welcome M.

So can anyone tell me, in dumb speak, how I go about getting my entry up on the forums?

No worries. So when it's time for you to start, you'll create a new thread for yourself in the forum "Comikaze 24hr Comic Challenge '07" (it's locked until the challenge starts) and the clock starts. Since you selected 'need hosting' you'll have some space (about 3MB) on the server to upload your pages as you go along (just go to your new thread, hit reply and attach your page (as a jpg, gif or png) and maybe say a few words about how it's going.

Here's an example from last year. Jules attached each page as he finished it.

PS - to see how much space you have left, go to a message you've posted and click the profile button at the bottom of the message (in your case, ... ile&u=1244 )

I dunno if I got the staying power for a full 24 page story.

I dunno if I have the staying power for an 8 pager.

I guess we'll find out soon enough, yeah?

Do it 'til
a) you had all the fun you can stand and opt for sleep
b) you start drooling on the paper.

In fact, you've just reminded me that even if I'm not doing the full thing this year, I should at least do as many pages as I have the time for.

I've been looking at alot of last year's entries.

What were the exclusive items that had to be included? I assume one of them was a Scotsman?

I don't recall, exactly. Last year was a bit more complicated and had more requirements.
If you go to the top of the forum for last year ( ) there should be a post from Mark Selan saying what the words/items/etc were.

Cool. Well I better get back to work.

You'll hear from me on the weekend.

Oh one last thing. Is it okay for me to start at like lunchtime Sunday?
