Motivation (not gender politics!)

Part of what motivates me is knowing that I'm happier in general when I am spending a big chunk of my time creating things. It makes me feel better about myself and about life. It makes me feel like maybe I have a purpose, I guess.

I also love the reaction I get to my comics. One of my favourite things about making comics is that I have several fans now who are under 12 and who get so excited about reading my stuff. It makes me so happy!

I guess in the end I get a lot of pleasure out of writing and drawing, and at the end of a long day making comics, I feel tired but really good. It makes the small amount of time I spend relaxing really enjoyable, instead of kind of boring. I'm never trying to kill time!
